Yes, there are countless species and subspecies of Oak all over the world.
BTW that is also one of my favorite reference websites.
Fishtail Oak is a new term that is been invented by, amongst others, the wood flooring companies to artificially be able to attach a higher value to quatersawn Oak.
It is however not a description of a species of Oak. But rather smoke up anybody’s butt who is listening.
It is just a new word to sell the same old….for more.
However, my post was not a referendum on your snare….I know nothing of your snare.
I do know however that there seams to a growing consensus amongst many people that I talk to on line that Mr Dunnett has not let the truth stand in the way of a good story on many issues….which is what I was referring to.
When I saw the new term of “fishtail Oak” appear in conjunction with a snare drum, I felt it was only fair to mention the other side of the story.
