Thank you so much for posting here.
Please ignore the few negative comments.
For each one of those are at least 10 times fold more positive thoughts.
They are just kids and don’t represent the character of the German drummer community as a whole….which is actually quite friendly.A couple of years ago I had the brief but distinct pleasure of meeting the ladies and gentleman behind Hanus & Hert and their drums.
The drums sounded fantastic, where unique in their design and showed some very fine workmanship with much attention to detail.Aloha, Gabriel

I recpect different opinions, and I am really glad to hear what other people think about it.
I see that you are also interested in custom made drums.
Do you know about KUMU DRUMS from Finland? http://www.kumu.fiKUMU is the main reason why I start to look for custom made drums.
Some of Kumu drums reminds me on Hanus&Hert, and the prices are almost the same (definition of word EXPENSIVE
).
But as everywhere, you have to pay for quality.I found this guy on youtube with KUMU, and I really like the sound of Kumu...

He is building the drums totally by himself, isn't he?
When I first time contact him, he send me a photo from his workshop, just to get an idea how he made the snares.

@duke: Sorry, aber wo siehst du da bitte Fertigteile? Die Snare mit den Metallböckchen habe ich nur als Gegenbeispiel zu den Holzböckchen gepostet (was da übrigens mit den 2 Böckchen los ist, kann ich nicht genau sagen, das Foto stammt auch aus einer Kleinanzeige und ich weiß nicht, ob die Snare nicht vielleicht von einem Laien nachträglich mit den Böckchen bestückt wurde).
So weit ich informiert bin, werden die Kessel (hauptsächlich in Fassbauweise), die Spannreifen und die Böckchen in Eigenarbeit hergestellt. Die Snareteppichabhebungen auf den Fotos sind meistens von Pearl, ok die werden sie also nicht unbedingt selbst bauen. Das eine Foto zeigt übrigens die Snare des Trommelkollegen, durch den ich auf Hallvad aufmerksam geworden bin - er hat sich die Messingböckchen von Stegner liefern lassen.
Verstehe nicht ganz, warum du diesen kleinen Betrieb so ins schlechte Licht rückst!?greb: Warum sollten Holzböckchen schwerer sein als welche aus Metall? Kommt beim Gewicht bestimmt auch sehr auf die Holzsorte an. Und: Sobald du etwas an den Kessel schraubst, ist sowieso nichts mehr mit "free-floating"
Dieser Begriff des freien Schwingens wird meiner Meinung nach zu inflationär und teilweise auch fehl am Platz verwendet.Ich wollte diesen kleinen Betrieb hier nur etwas bekannter machen, da ich das Gesamtkonzept mit (fast) vollständig aus Holz hergestellten Trommeln und Beschlagteilen interessant fand. Ich bin der Meinung, dass sich da jemand schon sehr viel Mühe bei gegeben hat und sich das Endprodukt auch sehen lassen kann.
Geschmäcker sind natürlich verschieden und auch ich würde mir nicht jede Trommel ans Set stellen. Man müsste sie nur mal testen können.....
