Genuine Twenty Bronze Sound from Paiste
Nottwil/Switzerland - The renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste announces the introduction of «Twenty»
cymbals at the 2007 Winter NAMM Show.
In the past half century, Paiste has created pioneering series such as the «Stambul», the «Formula 602», the
«2002», and the «Signature», by exploring and employing various alloys for cymbals. Now, Paiste’s continuous
search for origin and truth in sound from manually malleable metals leads it back to the original cymbal
bronze. For centuries, such legendary 20% bronze, with its primal and archaic sound potency, has been
produced in Turkey according to ancient knowledge, and to this day remains the only source for genuine
Turkish bronze.
Murat Diril, a cymbal smith from Turkey, has spend his life learning the time-honored art of manufacturing
traditional cymbal bronze, and has brought it to a high degree of maturity. Paiste and Diril have now formed
a collaboration that combines their respective experience and abilities in a ground-breaking project. For
«Twenty» Cymbals, Paiste receives blanks of hand crafted bronze from Murat Diril, which it then treats and
refines in Switzerland according to its skills and criteria for sound and function.
In this way, authentic Turkish bronze and world class Swiss craftsmanship come together to create a sensation
in the world of cymbals. Not surprisingly, the «Twenty» series features cymbals with pure quality for the
demanding requirements of professional drummers and percussionists. Their fundamental sound character
is full, rich, warm, silvery and shimmering.
Initially, Paiste is introducing an essential assortment of models, which include the Crash in 16" & 18", the
Ride in 20" & 22", the China in 16" & 18", the Splash in 10", and the Hi-Hat in 13" & 14" sizes.
«Twenty» cymbals, from the alloying to the hammering and lathing of the cymbals, are created entirely by
hand according to ancient and traditional methods.

Paiste introduces RUDE Wild Crashes
Nottwil/Switzerland - Following the «wild» success of last year’s Wild Crash introduction in the 2002 Series,
the renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste now introduces RUDE Wild Crashes in 17", 18", 19" & 20" sizes at
the 2007 Winter NAMM Show.
In the RUDE version, the meaty, roaring, wild character of the Wild Crash is further radicalized due to the
brazen, aggressive sound that is typical for RUDE cymbals. RUDE Wild Crashes are therefore perfectly suited
for extreme Rock, Punk and Metal applications.
The RUDE series was developed in the late 70’s, when Rock and Metal were already well established and the
new PUNK genre made its debut. RUDE cymbals, with their un-lathed surface, uniform thickness, and aggressive
frequency mix perfectly mirrored the unconventional trends of the time.
As today’s popular music firmly roots itself in the history of Rock, Metal and Punk and continues to expand
these genres, RUDE cymbals not only continue to be very appropriate sounds for today’s drummers, they also
represent the original article.
RUDE cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained
unchanged in over half a century.
Paiste Rocks on with major 2002 Expansion
Nottwil/Switzerland - The renowned Swiss cymbal maker Paiste announces a major expansion of the 2002
series at the 2007 Winter NAMM Show.
2002 cymbals were introduced in 1971 to address the sound needs of the new and exploding genres of
electrified Rock music. In the late 1990’s and throughout the 2000’s, musicians are returning to the exploration
of the textures and dynamics of Rock’s origins, which coincide with the era of the launch of the 2002 series.
As scores of drummers rediscover the timeless sound of 2002, Paiste continues to see a steady increase in
demand for 2002 cymbals, and along with that, a strong demand for additional models in the venerable
series.
Following last year’s introduction of the 2002 Wild Crash, Paiste now introduces the corresponding Wild
Ride in 20" & 22" sizes, and Wild Hats in 14" & 15" sizes. These models feature the same meaty and roaring
character that made the Wild Crash a runaway success. In addition, Paiste introduces the Wild Crush Ride in
18", 19" & 20" sizes, a cymbal that is specifically designed for huge, roaring crashes and crash/ride patterns.
As Rock music re-orients itself to its origins, larger cymbals with authentic sound are also again in demand.
To answer this trend, Paiste re-launches a number of sizes from the classic 2002 line-up. These include the
Crash in 22" & 24", the China in 22", and the Medium Hi-Hat in 15" sizes. The prototypical Power Ride in 20"
& 22" sizes also returns to the 2002 program.
2002 cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained
unchanged in over half a century.
